HOPE
FOR DRY EYE SUFFERERS

FROM HOME REMEDIES TO MEDICAL TREATMENTS, THERE IS A WAY TO GET RELIEF FROM DRY EYES

Dry Eye Syndrome goes by many different names, such as dry eye disease, ocular surface disease, or keratoconjunctivitis sicca. What they all have in common is that your eyes feel terrible. They burn, itch, feel tired, and are watery. Dry Eye Syndrome and other disorders of the surface of your eye can blur your vision intermittently. Dry Eye Syndrome is overall a real hassle.

Unfortunately, we do not have a permanent solution for dry eye syndrome. That being said, just because there is no cure, it doesn’t mean that we can’t help you get relief of your symptoms so that your eyes feel comfortable.

SEEKING RELIEF

When we’re treating dry eye syndrome, we usually start with home remedies. These are hot compresses, humidifiers, supplements of omega-3 fatty acids, and lubricant eye drops. If you’ve been trying all of the above and are still suffering, it’s okay – you’re in the right place!

When the home remedies aren’t getting you enough relief, we recommend a dry eye assessment. Our sister clinic, Kennedy Eye Clinic, has specialized dry eye testing so we can get down to the root cause of your dry eyes. A specialized dry eye assessment is how we can amp up your treatment and get you more relief from your dry eyes.

TREATMENTS

There are a lot of new dry eye treatments. There are new formulas of lubrication eye drops, prescription medicines, and in-office treatments such as radiofrequency, intense pulsed light (IPL) therapy, contact lenses, or even lacrimal occlusion (a.k.a. punctal plugs). The trick to finding the suitable options and tailoring your treatment for you is through the dry eye assessment at Kennedy Eye Clinic.
